Meet Your Sitter &
VSA-Certified Dog Trainer
Hi, let me tell you a little about myself, and I hope we’ll get to know each other soon!
Christina Smith -
Dog Sitter & VSA-Certified Dog Trainer
I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. My journey started in a bassinet with two Siamese kittens curled up next to me, and I truly grew up surrounded by animals of all kinds—dogs, cats, spiders, hermit crabs, iguanas, birds, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and even betta fish. My friends used to call me “Doctor Dolittle” because it seemed like animals naturally trusted me, and watching me play with them, one friend said it was like I had “an angel in me.” I can't say I knew what that meant exactly. I considered working as a vet but I didn't want to work with sick animals, feeling I could not cop.
Years later, while dog sitting, I met someone who used to train dogs. They asked if I had ever considered becoming a trainer. I hadn’t, but the question stuck with me. I started researching dog training, and at their encouragement, focused on positive reinforcement methods only. That’s when I discovered Victoria Stilwell and her show “It’s Me or the Dog,” and I was hooked. After a call with the Victoria Stilwell Academy, I knew I had found the right path. I asked, “How do I sign up?” and the rest, as they say, is history.
Now, I’m a VSA-Certified dog trainer, ready to combine my lifelong love for animals with the skills and knowledge to help dogs and their people thrive together. My goal is to help pet parents and their dogs build lasting bonds and learn to live peacefully as a family.
I’m here to help. Let’s go on this journey together—I’ll be with you and your pup every step of the way.
If you're just looking for a trustworthy pet sitter while you're away, I’ve got you covered! I respond quickly and can provide updates on my availability as soon as you reach out.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I look forward to working with you and supporting your goals — whether they involve dog training, pet sitting, or both.
Warmly,
Christina Smith
